Kichuya, Tambwe get endorsement deal

SIMBA’s Shiza Kichuya and Amissi Tambwe of Young Africans have been named as Ambassadors of Bajaj Auto Tanzania, the suppliers of auto rickshaws and motorcycles.

Bajaj Auto Africa, International Marketing Manager, Ashish Dhayal revealed the news on Friday night in Dar es Salaam, during the introduction of the newest Bajaj Auto motorbike brand dubbed ‘Boxer X 125’ in the country’s market.

“We felt it was important to utilise the two players for an endorsement as a way of promoting our country’s football,” Dhayal said. The launch of the Boxer X 125 goes simultaneously with motorbike race, organised by the firm which will be conduct in five regions in the country.

According to Dhayal, the race dubbed ‘Boxer Champion Cup’ will be conducted from districts to regional level in the selected regions, before reaching the national level.

He mentioned the regions as Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Coast, Mbeya and Morogoro, whereby about 6000 participants are expected to compete in the race.

He said the competition has already started in Mwanza region, while in Dar es Salaam, the race will be flagged off on October 16th this year. Dhayal further said that Kichuya and Tambwe have been picked to motivate motorbike riders’ alias ‘Bodaboda’ in the country to register for the race.

He said that the raiders who will register to compete in the road racing will have the opportunity to display their talents and skills of riding on rough roads with Boxer X125 and five winners from the districts level will qualify for the regional level.
