Chadema SG directed to report to DCI’s office

Secretary General of the main opposition party, Chadema Dr Vicent Mashinji 

Dar es Salaam. Secretary General of the main opposition party, Chadema Dr Vicent Mashinji has been ordered to report to the office of the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

The order comes at the time when Chademas director of operation and training Mr Benson Kigaila is grilled at the central police station since Monday October 23 when he surrendered for questioning.

Speaking to The Citizen on Wednesday, October 25, Chadema advocate, Mr Fredrick Kiwhelo said; “Dr Mashinji has been ordered to report for questioning, right now, I am coming from central police station to see Mr Kigaila and I’m on the way to the DCI office.”

Speaking about reason behind Dr Mashinji’s summons, Mr Kihwelo said it was in connection to the questioning for the allegedly issuance of sedition statement during press conference held recently in the city.

During the press conference, among other things, Dr Mashinji spoke about the attack of the Singida East MP Tundu Lissu in Dodoma in September 7.

On Mr Kigaila, the advocate said his fate would be known later today.

Mr Kigaila is questioned for allegedly issuing sedition statement during the press conference held on October 12 at the Party’s headquarters in Kinondoni District.
