THE national Under- 20 women football team, ‘Tanzanite face an uphill task today as they host Nigeria’s Falconets in the return leg match of 2018 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers at Azam Complex Stadium, Dar es Salaam.

Addressing media yesterday at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) headquarters in the city, Tanzanite Assistant Coach Hilda Masanche said they are fully prepared for the battle. She said they are aiming for nothing short than victory.

“We lost 3-0 in the first leg in Nigeria but now, as the technical bench, we have managed to put together all the pieces and we are now ready for the task.

“Falconets are above us in women football but that cannot deter us from emerging winners tomorrow (today) as football is judged after 90 minutes,” she said.

Tanzanite skipper, Wema Richard said morale in the camp is higher than ever before and that they are capable of turning the tables by scoring four clear goals in today’s encounter.

Head Coach for the visiting side Christopher Danjuma said their mission in Tanzania is to do better and qualify to the next round.

“We have reached into the finals of this tournament twice but we have to once again prove our ability to the Tanzanite, who are equally the best side to play against,” he said.

Also, captain for the away team Wilian Tule said they expect a tough match bearing in mind that they will be visitors unlike in the first match when they were the hosts.

For Tanzania to progress further into the competition whose finals will be played in 2018 in France, they have to win with four unanswered goals, which is possible in a game of football.

To facilitate fans entry at the stadium, charges have been reduced to 500/- for those who will occupy open stand while those under the covered stand will have to part with 1000/-.
